Since 2001 the magazine "Pictures of the Future" reports twice a year on major technology trends and looks at work in progress in the Siemens laboratories. It includes future scenarios, features, interviews with international experts and provides sophisticated and comprehensive insight into current R&D activities.
Best of Show Award goes to Pictures of the Future magazine in Washington, D.C. Competition
“Pictures of the Future”, Siemens’ magazine for research and innovation, has been awarded the two top prizes in the “Magazines” category of the Washington, D.C. Technical Publications Competition sponsored by the Society for Technical Communication (STC). The STC is the largest professional organization in the world for technical writers, editors, illustrators, managers, and educators, with some 18,000 members. In this latest competition, Siemens’ flagship publication not only won the top-rated “Distinguished” award, but was singled out for the “Best of Show” award as well. This classification indicates that an entry is generally superior to all other entries in terms of quality, concept, execution and presentation. Said one judge: “I am impressed that a translation from German can look so great, considering all the constraints. This is a huge effort and fantastically executed.” Added another, “This periodical successfully presents highly technical material by balancing the details with a general perspective and a human element amidst all of the technology".
