This image shows parts of the abdomen and liver. It was acquired with the HASTE sequence, an extremely fast imaging technique enabling, for example, fast acquisition of soft tissue tumors. This sequence is used in a range of clinical contexts to obtain an overview regarding the status of the region being examined. With its 1.5 Tesla magnet, the Magnetom Espree also enables a faster measurement time compared to conventional open devices. During acquisitions of the thorax or abdominal region, faster measurement times often mean shorter breathhold times – a real benefit to patients.
