Transport for London has placed an order with Siemens for an operating control system that can monitor and track more than 8,000 buses in the British capital by satellite, to improve the passenger services. With about 700 routes, the bus network is one of the largest in the world and carries approximately six million passengers every working day. The operating control system records how punctually the buses run and how high the quality of the “transport service” is.
