The wind farm has received wide recognition for its contribution to environmental objectives. It is partly located on an abandoned vast open-cast coal mine area which has been completely restored to shallow wetlands by the developer as part of a habitat management plan. The site also comprises grazed farmland and commercial forestry.
It has a total installed power capacity of 125 megawatts and has been connected to the network since 2005/6.
