For the first time, a computer tomograph (CT) can be used to automatically differentiate various tissue types in one scan. That’s because the Somatom Definition from Siemens features two X-ray tubes that work in parallel at different energy levels. Thanks to the syngo Dual Energy software, the tomograph can detect vessels and bones and display them in clear contrast to one another. Until now, using CTs without the Dual Energy feature, two scans were needed to do this. The breakthrough enables physicians to diagnose their patients’ conditions faster and more accurately.
