For one of the biggest IT projects in the German health system – the networking of the Rhön Clinics – Siemens developed the Web-based electronic patient records (WebEPA) based on the Siemens clinic system Soarian Integrated Care. Patient information such as admittance and release papers and findings can be exchanged by health service supervisors throughout Germany. This enables communication between the various clinical documentation, hospital information, image memory and general practitioner systems in a total of 46 hospitals and the appropriate medical supply centers of the clinic.
