In the future, electric cars will be equipped with a quick charging function, enabling them to charge up within a short time. Cars could then be recharged within a few minutes at charging stations, similarly to current filling stations. Integrated charging technology systems for vehicles are currently under development. These systems operate with considerably higher voltage and amperage to quickly replenish the batteries. In addition, the technology will be fitted with a communications interface with which the vehicle can exchange data with the power supplier. In a similar way to the cellular phone, the vehicle will be identified and the amount of electricity accordingly invoiced.
