The Barrel is Tapped (“Ozapft is”) – Siemens Technology Gets Oktoberfest Beer Flowing

Environmental and climatic protection is an important issue in all areas of industry, including breweries. Energy efficiency and flexibility in production are trends Siemens focuses on in its business with brewery technology. In comparison with older systems, Siemens technology can reduce energy consumption by up to 30 percent per brewed hectoliter of beer.

Quick and flexible switchover of production and bottling is required to rapidly launch new beer brands. A process control which enables this is a genuine competitive advantage for breweries. The same holds true for energy and water consumption. Industrial water treatment using the newest techniques additionally reduces the need for fresh water in cleaning the bottles.
