With the appointment of the Chief Diversity Officer, Siemens has created a new key function in the company. The first task of Jill Lee (45), who will assume this position on November 1, 2008, is to promote diversity in the ranks of Siemens management. Jill Lee was previously Chief Financial Officer in China. “We want to make even better use of the talent in the company worldwide. In a few years time the international composition and variety of our customer base and our younger employees should also be reflected in our top management. Jill Lee has been appointed to foster this development,” said Peter Löscher, CEO of Siemens AG.

The new Chief Diversity Officer will be a member of the Corporate Executive Development department, which is headed by Nicolas von Rosty. This department is assigned directly to the CEO and is responsible for the development of executive managers and the fostering of top talents.
Jill Lee has been working for Siemens since 1986 in various Asian countries. She has been Senior Executive Vice President and CFO at Siemens China since July 2004. In April 2008, she took over the function of CFO for the entire northeast Asian region, which in addition to the People’s Republic of China also includes Korea, Hong Kong and Taiwan. Her successor in this function will be selected shortly.
