Siemens receives outsourcing contract from Axel Springer AG

Axel Springer AG is extending its existing outsourcing contract with Siemens IT Solutions and Services by another five years. Throughout Germany, Siemens operates and maintains around 12,000 computers and the corresponding software for one of Europe’s leading media companies.
The Axel Springer publishing house is continuing the cooperation with Siemens IT Solutions and Services which began back in 2003. Siemens installs, operates and maintains the employees’ Windows and Macintosh workstations in the editorial and administration areas, as well as the corresponding software. A helpdesk hotline provides support for users with hardware or software problems. The main focus of activities are the sites in Hamburg and Berlin responsible for publications from the field of new media technologies, the newspapers Bild or Hamburger Abendblatt and a range of magazines. Axel Springer benefits from the professional support of its IT infrastructure and the resulting low IT costs, as well as from the freedom to focus on its core business.
