Siemens will be launching the new "Life" series of hearing aids at the 53rd EUHA Congress (International Congress of Hearing Aid Acousticians) in Leipzig. "Life" hearing systems have been developed specially for new users and anyone who wants a discreet and also fashionable looking hearing aid. They are significantly smaller and lighter than conventional behind-the-ear devices. They catch the eye with their elegant, modern design, and thanks to the wide range of colours, they can also be adapted to the personal taste of the owner. "Life" hearing instruments also include the latest technical features and can optionally be fitted with the Siemens-developed Tek Connect technology. This allows the hearing systems to be connected by Bluetooth to mobile phones, telephones, stereo systems or televisions
“Hearing aids are worn much more naturally now compared to previous years. However, particularly beginners express a wish for a solution that is as unobtrusive as possible and at the same time is attractive”, explains Dr. Stefan Schaller, CEO of Siemens Audiology. Siemens has developed the new "Life" hearing aids especially for this group. They are so small that they virtually disappear behind the ear. And anyone who happens to see them will be impressed by the modern, slender appearance, which has nothing in common with the large, beige hearing aids that many people can remember from their grandparents.
The numerous different colors in which "Life" is available are also impressive. They extend from discreet skin and hair colors to fresh two-tone colors, in some cases with attractive patterns.
Apart from the design the new "Life" hearing aids include a wide range of technical features that greatly simplify the use of a hearing aid, particularly for beginners. "Life" hearing aids even have a form of "artificial intelligence". With "DataLearning" they remember the volume preferences of users in particular situations and automatically adjust them in future. The optional "SoundLearning" feature goes one step further and additionally saves the individual settings for the preferred sound quality.
"Life" hearing aids can also be fitted with Tek Connect technology developed by Siemens. Then the hearing aid can be connected wirelessly to telephones and mobiles. For example, the hearing aid automatically informs the user when the mobile phone rings. The user can answer the call with the remote control and telephone without having to hold the mobile to the ear. The Tek transmitter sends sounds received from Bluetooth-enabled devices such as computers, MP3 players, home stereo systems or televisions directly to the hearing systems – and in stereo. This gives a new dimension of comfort in listening to television and music for wearers of hearing aids. Speakers or additional earphones are not necessary.
The "Life" hearing aids will be available in three price categories depending on their features. They will be on the market in October.
