We are aiming at running our business on the basis of the highest values and business ethics. Corporate responsibility is one of the four drivers – along with Portfolio, People Excellence and Operational Excellence – helping us reach the performance goals we have set in our Fit4 2010 company strategy.
At Siemens, corporate responsibility is a strategic managerial process aimed at integrating business, environmental and social performance to create greater value and enduring benefits within a framework of ethical practices. This is why corporate responsibility is a cornerstone of Fit4 2010, our corporate strategy, focusing on company growth as defined by the Fit4 2010 performance goals.
We have determined four long-term core CR functions in Fit4 2010 that we will further strengthen with our CR projects:
We aim to set standards – in order to clearly assign internal responsibility, achieve transparency in reporting and maintain high standards of integrity. We make effective contributions to climate protection through our product and solution portfolio and our environmental protection work. We plan to continue and intensify the worldwide rollout of our two company-wide corporate citizenship programs – Siemens Generation21 for education and Siemens Caring Hands for social assistance.
In addition, we define and implement the CR management focal points and their associated projects in our own CR controlling model.
